I-35 service road accident in Fort Worth kills two

Police investigators reported that two individuals died in a traffic accident involving eight vehicles on the Saturday afternoon of October 4 in Fort Worth, Texas.

According to Police Corporal Tracey Knight, a car first rear-ended the back of a pickup truck on a southbound service road of Interstate 35 west near East Felix Street. The initial crash spurred a series accidents involving six vehicles in all. Two people died in the car involved in the initial crash. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified one of the occupants as 20-year-old Fort Worth local Manuel Alvarez; the driver who died has yet to be named.

Others involved in the accident sustained serious, but not fatal injuries.
